The Union Jack
On the joyous occasion of King Charles’ birthday, an extraordinary live art event took center stage at the Deputy British Commission in Chandigarh. Conceptualized and led by the renowned artist Chitwan Singh Nanda, the event celebrated not only the monarch’s special day but also the spirit of creativity and collaboration through the intricate art of nail and thread. The highlight of the celebration was a magnificent recreation of the Union Jack flag, meticulously crafted using nails and vibrant threads. This masterpiece was made even more special by its interactive nature. The design was deliberately left incomplete in several areas, inviting the attending guests to participate actively in the creation process.
